K.K Slider from Animal Crossing Wild World?!?

This is the first time I've seen K.K Slider. He told me to take a seat, I'm trying to take a seat but Brewster keeps saying-"It'd be nice of you to turn off your timer." I tried dropping my timer on the ground, putting it in my house, I've also put my timer on and then pressed stop, PLUS I can't equip it to myself. & I've tried selling it to Nook but Brewster keeps saying-"It'd be nice of you to turn your timer off." I got an extra timer that I found by shaking a tree recently but my only options with the timer are- Measure time or Never mind. If I click never mind he still tells me the same thing. If I click measure time it tells me to pick a time then i can press stop if i click it again. BUT brewster keeps saying the same thing. PLEASE HELP!
